The aftermath of the Los Angeles Rams‘ dramatic loss to the Seattle Seahawks extended far beyond the field, as Matthew Stafford‘s family found themselves dealing with an entirely different kind of problem once they returned home.
On Friday, Kelly Stafford shared that she and the couple’s daughters were battling a lice outbreak after traveling to Seattle for the Rams’ 38-37 defeat.
The revelation came via Instagram, where she documented the experience with a mix of humor and exhaustion.
Kelly posted videos and photos showing professionals working through their hair, offering an unfiltered look at the situation.
In one clip, she wrote, “We are all in the lice removal process. Happy Friday.”
Another post summed up the ordeal more bluntly, noting there were “so many bugs, so many eggs.”
The process, according to Kelly, took more than four hours to complete. While far from ideal, she admitted the treatment itself was surprisingly relaxing.
Alongside a selfie, she wrote, “Honestly, the removal process feels incredible.”
A challenging stretch on and off the field
Kelly did not confirm whether Matthew Stafford was affected, explaining only that his scalp was checked by professionals after he returned from work.
No further details were shared.
The timing of the situation added to what has been an especially trying few days for the Stafford household. Earlier in the week, Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua made headlines following a controversial appearance on a livestream with internet personality Adin Ross.
The attention prompted Nacua to issue a public apology.
That off field distraction was followed by a crushing loss in Seattle, a game that pushed the Rams into second place in the NFC West. Emotions remained raw in the hours and days that followed.
Kelly later sparked conversation among fans by suggesting that officiating during the game favored the Seahawks, a comment that drew mixed reactions online.
Despite the string of frustrations, there is a pause ahead. The Rams will not play again until December 29, when they face the Falcons in Atlanta.
The break provides an opportunity for the team to regroup and for the Stafford family to move past an unusually chaotic week that brought trouble both on the scoreboard and at home.
