The Jesse Minter era in Baltimore is off to a rocky start. The arrival of Maxx Crosby hasn’t generated the same enthusiasm in the Ravens’ locker room and even seems to have caused a rift in their defense, especially between Marlon Humphrey and Kyle Hamilton.
The two defensive backs were vital to former head coach John Harbaugh’s game plan. In 2025, Humphrey contributed 68 tackles and four interceptions, while Hamilton tackled 105 opponents and forced two fumbles.
Despite this, the Ravens’ defense was one of the worst in the league last year, with below-average numbers:
- 354.5 total yards per game
- 247.9 passing yards
- 106.6 rushing yards
- 23.4 points allowed
Against this backdrop, fans and analysts warmly welcomed Crosby, but it seems not everyone on the team felt the same way.
Humphrey criticizes Hamilton on social media
This Monday, a fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to point out, “Sometimes I wonder if Kyle Hamilton hates the Ravens. Guy shares this and the likely signings but not a like, comment, or share in relation to the Crosby or other Ravens news.”
The user was referring to Hamilton’s reactions to the signings of Tyler Linderbaum by the Las Vegas Raiders and Isaiah Likely by the New York Giants.
Although the fan admitted he might have been overreacting, Humphrey immediately retorted:
You’re not overreacting. He’s exactly who you think he is!! I know him personally.
The star cornerback’s comment confused and immediately divided social media.
Fans divided over Humphrey’s comment
Reactions on X were immediate, but fans were divided between those who believed Humphrey was joking and those who didn’t take his comment well.
“You know Marlo smiling and laughing as he posted this,” one of the former said, while among the latter, one commented, “I used to be a huge fan. But man, you sure have turned into a little bitch.”
Whatever the case, new head coach Jesse Minter will have to get to the bottom of the matter if he doesn’t want his locker room to fracture even before the training camp begins.
