Shannon Sharpe often draws significant attention to his podcast after leaving television. On his show, he speaks candidly, as is typical in this format. However, it is not only him-his guests also tend to do the same.
On this occasion, he may have attracted unusual attention from an audience that might not even know him, much less be subscribed to the podcast. During the episode, comments were made about the body of pop singer Taylor Swift.
Comedian Mark Normand appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast
The former Denver Broncos tight end and Super Bowl champion hosted comedian Mark Normand on the Club Shay Shay podcast this week. However, things quickly spiraled out of control when the comedian, out of nowhere, directed remarks at Taylor Swift.
During the program, both were reviewing Travis Kelce’s dating history. Suddenly, the comedian began comparing the Kansas City Chiefs player’s current partner and fiancée with his former girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.
Normand made remarks about how both women look and suggested they were very similar.
We’ve seen his exes. Compared to old surfboard body here. I mean, not to besmirch the lady, but that’s quite a jump in type.
Following this comment, which did not seem to sit well with Sharpe, he responded.
I only know that was his last girl. I don’t know anybody that he dated before her – Kayla.”…’But sometimes I think the people that (say), “Oh, he fumbled. He fumbled.” I mean, if somebody makes you happier, is that a fumble?
However, Normand appeared unconvinced by the former player’s response and doubled down.
But I wonder if he misses that fat a**. I think [Swift] should get a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift),
To which Shannon later replied:
No, that doesn’t fit with what she’s got going on.
Kelce’s relationship with Kayla Nicole lasted five years and was marked by emotional highs and lows until they decided to end it in 2022.
By 2023, he began dating Taylor.
Swifties react to Normand’s controversial comments
As expected, the singer’s loyal fanbase did not let the moment pass without responding to what they considered offensive remarks from the comedian.
Trash. Shannon betraying his long friendship with Kelce by disrespecting his fiancée is disappointing and unexpected. They don’t make loyalty like they used to.
One social media user wrote in response to a clip of the conversation on X.
Why would you even discuss another woman’s body?
Another questioned.
It is very disappointing and very sad to see. What’s more embarrassing (is) to highlight (sic) this part of the interview.
Why do men feel so comfortable suggesting surgeries for women who didn’t ask?
A third asked.
