Luka Donicic made history on Thursday night as he became the third player in Los Angeles Lakers‘ franchise history to record 45+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 5+ three-pointers in a game, joining legends Kobe Bryant and LeBron James in this exclusive club. Despite his standout performance, Doni’s efforts were not enough to secure a win, as the Milwaukee Bucks triumphed 126-106, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Luka Doni’s Historic Performance

The Lakers star put up a remarkable 45 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 made three-pointers in the game. His 29 points at halftime were a testament to his explosive scoring ability. The performance marked his season-high in points and his most impressive outing since joining the Lakers.

Doni’s ability to score and rebound, combined with his shooting from beyond the arc, made him one of the most dominant players on the floor. However, despite his efforts, the Lakers fell short, extending their losing streak to three games.

Other Notable Performances in the Game

Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a solid line of 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists, contributing significantly to the Bucks’ victory. Alongside him, Brook Lopez was also instrumental, adding 23 points to the Bucks’ total. Damian Lillard and Kevin Porter Jr. chipped in with 22 points each. Lillard also recorded 10 assists and 6 rebounds, proving to be a key playmaker in the win.

Lakers’ Struggles and Injuries

The Lakers were missing some crucial players during the game, including LeBron James, who is out due to a left groin strain. This was the second consecutive game James has missed. Additionally, Jaxson Hayes (right knee bruise) and Rui Hachimura (left patellar tendinopathy) were sidelined, leaving the Lakers shorthanded.

Lakers coach JJ Redick confirmed that all three players had flown back to California and will also miss the upcoming game on Friday against Denver. The Lakers are expected to be day-to-day with their injured players and will return to action on Sunday for a five-game home stretch starting with a matchup against Phoenix.
