Logan Paul is claiming that Floyd Mayweather Jr. still owes him $1.5 million from their June 2021 exhibition bout, alleging the fight was pre-sold overseas and his contractual share was never paid.
The YouTuber says the pre-sale happened before the Miami Gardens event was finalized and insists he is entitled to a large sum of cash.
“He pre-sold the fight using my name and likeness to a company,” Paul said. “I think in Dubai or somewhere in the Middle East, for $10,000,000 cash.
“Our deal was 15%, he smoked me. 15% of $10,000,000 is $1,500,000. The company that paid him $10M is suing him. I don’t think I’m ever getting the money.”
This dispute is tied to a well-known chapter before the bout. Mayweather Promotions filed a $122.6 million lawsuit against PAC Entertainment Worldwide after a Dubai-hosted event fell through, claiming the company failed to deliver the promised funds.
Court records show PAC promised the financial capacity to stage the fight, with Mayweather Promotions agreeing to a guaranteed $110 million. When the first $30 million payment was missed in March 2021, the exhibition was moved to Miami through Fanmio Boxing.
PAC Entertainment countered, alleging a breach of contract by Mayweather’s team. The $10 million figure cited by Paul may reflect a separate pre-sale or advance, rather than the full transaction referenced in public court filings.
The payment issue is not new. Paul previously estimated the amount owed between $2 million and $5 million and has raised the matter publicly since 2021, while the latest claim specifically targets the alleged overseas pre-sale.
Paul‘s original arrangement guaranteed a $250,000 base purse plus 10 percent of pay-per-view revenue. Meanwhile, Mayweather received $10 million plus half of PPV earnings. With around one million PPV units sold, Paul’s total payout would have been near $5 million.
The boxer has previously defended the nonpayment, noting pay-per-view funds take time to distribute and that a rematch would have been pursued if checks were missing. No response has followed the latest podcast comments.
For the influencer, the $1.5 million appears largely written off. He has moved on to WWE, his PRIME Hydration business with KSI, and life in Puerto Rico, leaving the dispute unresolved nearly five years after their ring encounter.
Mayweather books in Pacquiao fight
Meanwhile, Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will meet in a professional rematch on September 19 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, with the event airing live on Netflix.
It marks Mayweather‘s first official fight since 2017 whilst the Filipino legend, Pacman, returned to the ring last July against Mario Barrios, resulting in a draw after retiring in 2021 for a political career.
The fight follows years of speculation about a potential rematch after their first meeting in 2015, billed as the Fight of the Century, set pay-per-view and gate records, generating 4.6 million buys and $72 million at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Mayweather won that night by controversial unanimous decision. Details on the rounds, weight class, undercard, and ticketing have yet to be announced, though expectations are high given the legacy and history of the pair.
Fans and media will closely monitor announcements in the coming weeks.
