The Winter Olympics have left and continue to leave stories to tell. Even love stories. The wife of Jason Kelce, former center for the Philadelphia Eagles, Kylie spoke on her new episode of Not Gonna Lie with Breezy Johnson, who got engaged to her boyfriend,Connor Watkins, at the end of the Olimpia delle Tofane slope.

However, the skier decided to use this space to send a strong message to her haters and defended her fiancé from criticism for “stealing” her spotlight. And Ky couldn’t agree with her more.

Kylie supports Johnson in defending Connor Watkins

Hi, I’m Breezy Johnson and I’m ‘not gonna lie’: getting engaged at the Olympics does not steal your spotlight, it just makes it that much cooler,” Breezy began in the trailer for the full episode of Kylie’s podcast, alluding to the name of the podcast and the negative comments she received after her engagement.

Ky thanked her for saying this and supported the gold medal-winning skier by stating that such comments should not have been made, as she and her happiness were what mattered: “I feel very strongly about the fact that people who are trolls and want to be like, ‘boo hoo, that shouldn’t have happened,’ is crazy, because what an incredible time,” Kylie said.

The truth is that many people believed that getting engaged when the skier was possibly experiencing one of the most important moments of her professional career after winning Olympic gold and competing in the Olympic Games was shifting the focus away from her profession and onto her private life.

However, Breezy revealed that getting engaged in that context was something she had been longing for and had even communicated to her partner, with whom she has been in a relationship for two and a half years. For this reason, for her, there could not have been a better time to get engaged.

Getting engaged at the Olympics doesn’t steal your spotlight, it just makes it that much cooler,” Johnson said.

I just thought it would be really fun to bring the two loves of my life together. I had talked to him about it. A lot of people were like, ‘He’s stealing your spotlight.’ I was like, ‘You clearly didn’t pay attention. I won the downhill three days ago.’

On February 8, Johnson won the women’s downhill and, as she herself explained, three days after her gold medal and two days before Valentine’s Day, her boyfriend got down on one knee and proposed.

“The only person whose opinion matters is hers. If that’s what she wanted, then yay!!!!”, “Excited for you both!”, “It was so cool!!! Happy for you guys!!!”, “Congratulations on both your gold medal and engagement. A trip to Italy you’ll never forget,” were some of the messages from fans, cheering Breezy on and supporting her.

Last week, Johnson shared some photos of this special day on her official Instagram account, but she received a special comment: Travis Kelce’s fiancée (Kylie’s brother-in-law), Taylor Swift, commented on her post:

‘Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me’ CONGRATULATIONS!!!” she wrote, referring to her song ‘The Alchemy’, which Connor used to propose to Breezy.

Undoubtedly, it was a comment the skier did not expect to receive, but on this occasion, she was happy to do so.
