On Wednesday night, the Toronto Blue Jays handily defeated the New York Yankees 34-17 and closed out the ALDS with a 5-2 victory.

The Yankees’ subsequent elimination, of course, did not make fans happy, who had been complaining and showing their discontent even before the game, but it also ruined the evening for several celebrities.

The Yankees’ defeat cast a shadow over a romantic date

Actor Timothée Chalamet was sitting with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner in the front row behind home plate at Yankee Stadium.

Although they tried to go unnoticed, not only did their presence attract the attention of fans and paparazzi, but their disappointed faces after losing to their American League East Division rivals in the playoffs drew everyone’s attention.

The “Dune” actor has repeatedly shown his support for the team and has attended several games with his girlfriend, the renowned model.

During the game, he even appeared on the giant screen wearing a team jacket and baseball cap, and did not hesitate to enthusiastically say “Yanks in 5” while raising five fingers. However, the final result dashed the hopes of Timothée and the rest of the fans.

This appearance came amid rumors of their breakup and after two months out of the media spotlight, and although the couple did not leave with smiles on their faces after the defeat, they confirmed that they are still together and stronger than ever.

The couple were first linked in 2023, shortly after Kylie split from Travis Scott, with whom she shares two children: Stormi Webster, born in 2018, and Aire Webster, born in 2022.

Also in attendance was legendary director Spike Lee, who, like Jenner and Chalamet, could barely hide his disappointment.

The Blue Jays’ victory adds to the collection of disappointments for the Yankees, who have not won a World Series in more than a decade and a half, since 2009.

Toronto, which after the victory secured its own ticket to the ALCS for the first time since 2016, awaits the winner between Seattle and Detroit.
