After a disappointing 2024-25 season with a 36-46 record and no playoff berth, the Phoenix Suns are facing an internal crisis. Financial and athletic pressures could lead them to make drastic decisions, including the possible departure of Kevin Durant, which would mark a major turning point in the team’s future.

KD was close to signing with the Golden State Warriors on the February deadline, imagine the bombshell that would have meant after what happened with Luka Doncic and the Lakers, the NBA would have seen a generational change at the top, but it didn’t happen.

And watch out, because his future will be the talk of the town, as Kevin Durant does not have a no-trade clause in his current contract with the Phoenix Suns.

Since leaving the Warriors in 2019, he has played for the Nets and the Suns, but has not returned to the NBA Finals, a huge blow to his legacy as he is undoubtedly a future Hall of Famer.

Kevin Durant wants to go to Miami

According to Five Reasons Sports, KD is looking to be traded to the Heat this offseason. And the interest isn’t just coming from Durant, Miami also wants him and will be looking to make the move as soon as possible.

The Miami Heat are not having the best of times after being crushed by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs, and they have promised various changes after disappointing their loyal fans who always support them.

However, the arrival of Kevin Durant could solve many of the Miami Heat’s problems. He is not prone to injury, as evidenced by the 62 games he played last season, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists, with 52.7% shooting from the field, 43.0% from three-point range and 83.9% from the free throw line.

Miami is under pressure to win the NBA championship every season, as they have not won a championship since 2013, failed to reach the finals in 2020 and 2023, and owe a lot to their fans.

We will just have to wait and see if they can make the move for Kevin Durant, and then the debate will begin as to whether he will live up to expectations with the Florida franchise.
