Josh Allen has had an unforgettable year both professionally and personally. Just months after winning the NFL MVP award for the first time in his career, the Buffalo Bills quarterback exchanged vows with actress Hailee Steinfeld in a private wedding held in California on May 31.
The couple’s wedding photos, first released by People.com, quickly spread across social media, confirming the long-speculated milestone. Allen and Steinfeld‘s relationship, which began in 2023, gradually grew more public over time, though the pair initially kept a low profile.
Their first appearance together came at a Buffalo Sabres hockey game, where they were seen watching from a suite.
As their bond deepened, the two began attending major events together. From walking red carpets to sitting front row at Paris Fashion Week in March 2024, Allen and Steinfeld emerged as one of the most high-profile couples in sports and entertainment.
Their engagement was announced in November 2024 through a post on Allen‘s Instagram, marking a turning point in their relationship.
A quiet proposal, a sunny ‘I do’
While many expected a lavish announcement, the couple kept details of the wedding under wraps. However, subtle hints emerged earlier in the year.
During a March interview on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, Allen’s teammate Dion Dawkins hinted at the upcoming nuptials when asked if he had any weddings on the calendar.
“Soon to come, May 31, it’s happening,” Dawkins said – a statement that now appears to have been a quiet confirmation of the wedding date.
Allen later opened up about the proposal in an interview with Steinfeld for her Beau Society newsletter, sharing a heartfelt account of how he asked the question.
“I said I couldn’t wait any longer. I said I can’t wait to start a family with you. I said your full name, and I asked you very nicely. I said please,” Allen said. “You were extremely surprised, you said yes, and that was all that mattered to me. And the sun was out.”
Steinfeld described their wedding day as the most “magical” moment of her life, a fitting description for what has been a fairytale romance played out in the public eye but protected from the spotlight.
While Allen and Steinfeld begin this next chapter together, the quarterback now turns his focus back to the field. After earning league MVP honors and establishing himself as one of the NFL’s elite, Allen will look to translate his individual accolades into team success.
The Buffalo Bills, still in search of their first Super Bowl title, will once again be one of the AFC’s top contenders – now with a newly married MVP at the helm.
