Josh Allen, quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, is coming off a brilliant season in which he threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns, with just six interceptions and 14 sacks all year.

That performance led him to win his first MVP award in 2024, as well as guiding the Bills to the AFC final, where they lost by a tight score of 32-29 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

With these credentials, Josh Allen appears in second place in the FanDuel betting with +500, which places him as one of the favorites.

Lamar Jackson, the heavy favorite to win MVP this season

Above Josh Allen is Lamar Jackson, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens. The 29-year-old already knows what it is like to win the award, having done so in 2019 and 2023. Last season was spectacular: 41 touchdown passes, only four interceptions, more than 4,100 passing yards and 915 rushing yards.

With those numbers, many expected him to be the 2024 MVP winner, although the voters ultimately opted for Allen. For 2025, Jackson starts the campaign as the heavy favorite to reclaim the trophy and add the third of his career.

Other contenders to win the NFL MVP

The list of favorites does not stop at Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, as Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a two-time winner of the award, is also among the candidates.

With nearly 4,000 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2024, Mahomes remains a constant threat. He will also continue to rely on his longtime partner Travis Kelce, who continues to make headlines on and off the field.
