During the premiere of Netflix’s new series America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, Jones had no qualms about confessing why the franchise always grabs headlines.

“I think if they’re not looking at us, I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure they do,” he said with a smile. To him, the NFL is a “factory of interest” that runs 365 days a year. As he explained, while other productions have to invest heavily in promotion, the Cowboys are already a constant soap opera on their own. “When things slow down, I’ll be the one to stir them up,” he added.

Jones stirs controversy as a strategy

Jones didn’t just talk about athletic talent. He acknowledged that beyond having great athletes, the real draw lies in the “spark,” the excitement, and above all, the controversy. “That controversy is good for keeping people’s attention,” he stated.
