Amid the challenges of the current New York Yankees season, a positive milestone has emerged for a player who could help the team reach the postseason if he maintains this level of production. That player is Jazz Chisholm Jr., who just set a mark not seen within the franchise in recent years.

The Yankees can smile after seeing Jazz Chisholm Jr. reach 20 stolen bases and 20 home runs in the season, becoming the first Yankee to achieve these numbers since 2023.
The last player to hit this mark was Anthony Volpe, who was the 15th rookie in MLB history to accomplish this feat. Coincidentally, today was the day Volpe did not appear in the Yankees’ starting lineup for the first time in 46 games.
Jazz Chisholm is batting .238/.334/.473 this season with an OPS of .807. He currently has 21 home runs, the third-highest total on the Yankees, behind only Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger, along with 55 RBIs. Chisholm also achieved a 20 stolen bases and 20 home runs season last year, though he did so with the Miami Marlins.
Currently, the New York Yankees are the third-best team in the American League East and are in a tight battle for the Wild Card, where they also rank third, 3.5 games behind the Cleveland Guardians, who are fighting to secure a postseason spot.
