By this point, Jake Paul doesn’t really have anything left to prove. Before even turning 30 years old, he’s become one of the most famous celebrity figures in the United States. Already a notorious influencer who took advantage of the advent of YouTube, Paul turned his notoriety into a massive success in the boxing ring.
Sure, Paul’s opponents had left a lot to be desired, but getting pummeled by Anthony Joshua was enough to show that when Paul is serious about something, it becomes very real. Still recovering from his loss to Joshua, Paul has stayed busy through his combat sports promotion company, Most Valuable Promotions. Paul intends to continue fighting, but he appears to have his eyes on a different venture now.
Jake Paul wants to play at Stanford before entering the NFL as a slot receiver
This week, Paul riled many fans up by appearing on an a16z podcast and discussing the possibility of playing in the NFL. First, he wants to play college football at Stanford, then make the jump to the league.
I wanna play on the Stanford football team actually. I’m being serious. I went there today… I think it could be funny or interesting. But I do have NFL aspirations. I wanna play slot receiver… The idea of it happened today. I was originally thinking I’d go straight to the Cleveland Browns or Dallas Cowboys. They’re probably gonna want to see me play first. So it might be better if I start off in college.
At this point, it’s impossible to tell when Paul is being truly serious or not. Paul had never even considered football until he visited Stanford University, so this was all likely said tongue-in-cheek. Technically, Paul could pull it off since he didn’t attend any college during his younger days. Stanford would have to accept him, of course.
