Having a son who goes on to play professionally in Major League Baseball must be a great source of pride, but having two is almost a blessing, and that’s how Mary feels, as she captured the attention of the MLB world on the very eve of Mother’s Day

But who is Mary and why did she attract the attention of the public and fans last Saturday in the stands and on the field at Comerica Park? It turns out that she is Mary Jung, the mother of Jace and Josh Jung, who play for the Detroit Tigers and the Texas Rangers, who faced each other last Friday in a three-game series that culminated with only one victory for the home team, compared to two for the Texas team.

Rangers take the win (and the series)

However, in the second game of the series, which the Rangers won 10-3, Mary’s famous sons ‘offered’ their performance, and she received the honor, dressed in a peculiar outfit that was an absolute sensation and unequivocal proof that a mother’s love goes far beyond any rivalry, regardless of how important the stage is.

Mary… with a ‘broken’ heart

Mary Jung had a half-Tiger, half-Rangers jersey made, with the surname Jung on the back, divided between both ‘colors’, just as her heart was, seeing her two offspring on the field defending their respective teams, making their dreams come true, after starting the road in their college years at Texas Tech, from where Josh first came out during the first round of the 2019 Draft, and then Jace, in the 2022 edition.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, emotion took over Comerica Park as the joy was reflected on the face of a proud mother, and the fruits of her womb realizing their professional dreams as the best gift they could give her (besides the fact that they gave her a special edition bat and that both wore personalized spikes). She only showed in the two jerseys sewn together the state of her heart, divided between the two loves of her life. Exciting and moving!
