The New Heights podcast stream reached another level with the guest everyone was waiting for, and the day finally arrived for Taylor Swift to join her partner Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce on the show, discussing various topics, including her connection to sports as a young girl and the importance of getting in shape to tackle the demands of her Eras Tour.

As expected, there was plenty of humor, and Travis Kelce made one thing clear about the superstar: she’s not as bad at sports as she claims.

Taylor Swift reveals she got in shape for the Eras Tour

The multi-Grammy winner explained that she wanted to stay physically fit to meet the intense demands of performing at her peak during her tour, which led her to undergo a different kind of training that paid off.

“I’m glad that I actually prepared for this tour the way that I was, because in previous tours I’ve noticed that I would get on the tour and have to get my stamina up throughout the tour, and by the last quarter of the tour I finally got my full stamina so I could do this easily every night”

“That’s why I did so much more training, so much more endurance training and cardio. That stuff doesn’t come naturally because I’m not an athlete, so I really have to force myself to do it – that’s how I feel,” she added.

“I’m not an athlete, and that’s fine. I play instruments; it’s not my thing.” But at this point, her boyfriend Travis Kelce chimed in to say she was wrong, noting that he’s seen her play beer pong and throw a football: “I have seen you throw a football.”

Jason asked if there was a spiral, to which Travis replied with a yes, prompting the older brother to draw his own conclusion: “It’s better than me.”

Later, the American singer discussed her early experiences with sports, which, while not through playing, came through her family, especially her father, a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

“My relationship with sports was like… I grew up in Pennsylvania, and I always heard my dad yelling at the screen watching Eagles games – that’s what sports always sounded like in my house. However, I was up in my room playing guitar, playing instruments, playing piano. I was focused on different things”

“I would go to a sporting event so I could sing the national anthem,” she added, opening the door to the idea that she might one day – why not? – perform the national anthem at an NFL game, perhaps even at a Super Bowl.
