TheIndiana Fever had a big night at the 2025 WNBA Draft, picking up three promising players in Florida State forward Makayla Timpson, South Carolina’s Bree Hall, and Gonzaga standout Yvonne Ejim. But it was Timpson’s reaction to her new teammateCaitlin Clark that made people lean in.

“Yeah, that’s gonna be pretty cool,”Timpson said when asked about sharing the court with Clark. “She’s a great point guard. She set the tone for the league last year. She had an incredible rookie season, so I’m just excited to play with her as well.”

Clark’s gravity is real – and Timpson feels it

Clark’s presence doesn’t just generate highlights – it changes the game. Her elite vision and tempo-shifting passes don’t just rack up assists; they make everyone around her better. Add in her record-setting rookie season and viral popularity, and it’s easy to see why teammates want in.

Timpson isn’t just hopping on the bandwagon, though. She’s got a deeper connection to the team thanks to Natasha Howard, who also played at Florida State and had already envisioned them playing together.

“She told me last year she wanted to play with me,”Timpson said. “This was before she got to the Fever. I guess she spoke it into existence.”

It’s a good sign for Indiana – chemistry doesn’t always come built-in, but between the FSU pipeline and Clark’s magnetic style of play, the pieces might just click faster than expected.

Clark, who led the league in assists as a rookie (StatMuse, 2024), has shown she can find scorers in every pocket of the floor. For a high-motor forward like Timpson, that’s music to her ears.

The Fever are building something – and with the new additions embracing the moment, the hype might just be justified this time around.
