Michael Porter Jr. reflects on his time with Denver Nuggets

After many years with the Denver Nuggets, Michael Porter Jr. reflected on some of his most memorable moments with the franchise during the latest episode of the Glory Daze podcast, hosted by former NFL player Johnny Manziel. Porter took the time to recall key triumphs and experiences with the Nuggets, highlighting the victories against the Lakers.

“I love playing against them. I don’t know what it was, but I always cooked the Lakers,” Michael Porter Jr. said. He added, “I just think that they didn’t really have a guy in a matchup for me who could contest me coming off screens, and I was able to get to my shots.”

Porter also noted that other teams presented tougher challenges. “Some of the other teams we played down the road, they kind of had a little bit better of a matchup for me,” Michael Porter Jr. explained.

Why Michael Porter Jr. dominated the Lakers more than any team

Michael Porter Jr. went further in explaining the Nuggets’ dominance over the Lakers, particularly in playoff matchups where LeBron James’ team was caught off guard. According to Porter, the games against Los Angeles were some of the moments when the Nuggets showcased their best basketball.

“Those series against LeBron were dope. And then going head-to-head against LeBron in the playoffs, he’s the epitome of greatness in sports. And to be able to, like, go into LA. We swept the Lakers one year, the other year we beat them like 4-1 or 4-2, I think,” Porter said referring LeBron James presence.

“But that’s just it was a good feeling. And when you have so much respect for somebody like I do for LeBron, and to be able to go head-to-head and and and come out on top, it was lit,” he added.

For now, Michael Porter Jr. is focused on delivering a high level of play with the Brooklyn Nets in the upcoming season, eager to shine and showcase his full talent. Yet, the memories of his clashes against the Lakers during his time with the Nuggets will likely remain on his mind.
