Philadelphia will seek revenge against the Giants after the 34-17 drubbing they received in New York in Week 5 of the NFL. Now, Week 8 arrives, and the Eagles want revenge by any means necessary. In that sense, one of the Big Apple team’s wide receivers knows the atmosphere at Lincoln Financial Field and knows it won’t be easy for anyone, especially young quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Each team approaches this game in a slightly different way. The Giants have come from behind this season, posting three straight losses to start the season and then winning tough battles against teams like the Chargers and the Eagles themselves. On the other hand, Philadelphia is the reigning Super Bowl champion, so they will always be a tough opponent to beat, and they arrive with a positive record of 5-2.
Darius Slayton sends preemptive message to Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants (2-5) will face the Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) in Week 8 of the 2025 season on Sunday. The game kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton was asked if he had any advice he would give rookie Dart about playing in Philadelphia.
if he (Dart) didn’t have any haters, he’s about to find out where everyone lives
Slayton, who is in his seventh year with the Giants, didn’t shy away from offering the young quarterback some insights into Eagles fans. “Yeah, I mean, if he (Dart) didn’t have any haters, he’s about to find out where everyone lives,” Slayton said. “He’s about to be introduced to all of them. But, you know, it’s still just football.” Dart’s Giants outlasted Jalen Hurt’s Eagles in Week 6, beating them 34-17 at MetLife Stadium.
Sean Payton explains comment on Jaxson Dart and Russell Wilson
Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton insisted his recent comments were a nod to Jaxson Dart, not an attack on Russell Wilson. Payton said Sunday, after Denver’s historic 33-32 comeback win, that the Giants “found a little spark with” Dart, who became the starter. Wilson responded last Tuesday.
He said Payton, who coached him through a dismal 2023 campaign, “had no class.” Payton responded: “Look, because of the euphoria, the way that game played out, that comment was strictly about Dart,” he said of his postgame remarks. “That was in no way directed at Russ. And I could understand that, after that win and seeing how (Dart) played, that wasn’t the intent.”
