, it is still a proposal that must be analysed by FIFA. To move forward, the initiative promoted by Arsène Wenger will have to be approved by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), the body responsible for safeguarding the rules of the game, which will hold its annual meeting on 20 January 2026 in London.
