Love, family, and soccer come together once again. Federico Valverde’s hat-trick to give Real Madrid victory over Manchester City (3-0) in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 was a great joy for the fans, but also for his family.
The Uruguayan midfielder scored his three goals in the first 45 minutes and, when the match was over, he emotionally remembered his children and his wife. And they also praised him.
Valverde: hat-trick on and off the field
Fede and Mina Bonino met in early 2019 and, in these seven years, they have shared countless moments. Now, after the Real Madrid star’s three goals, his wife couldn’t be prouder.
On her official Instagram account, the Argentine journalist shared a post from her husband’s team in her stories and dedicated a warm and emotional message to him:
“I have no words because we know everything. My whole family. No one more than you deserves to have incredible things happen in life,” she wrote.
Mina also shared a sweet photo with her husband and their sons Benicio and Bautista posing with the ball and the MVP trophy from the match.
Meanwhile, Fede and Mina will score their own hat trick in the family, as they announced that their third child is on the way: Bruna, their first girl.
After the match, Fede was asked what he would do with the trophy and the ball from the match, as it is customary for the hat-trick scorer to take them home. Excited, he said he couldn’t believe he was scoring goals and that he “thought it was a dream.”
Although a journalist joked that “not even his children would play with this ball,” Valverde revealed that he will keep it and give it to his children, “who are the ones who are happy about this.”
“I will give the signed ball and the MVP to my children. It’s a dream night. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed myself this much,” admitted the Uruguayan.
He also confessed that it will be difficult for Benicio and Bautista to sleep that night because “I was going to play with them until whatever time they wanted,” revealing a tender bond with his little ones and the great happiness that fills him.
Now, after handing Pep Guardiola his worst defeat in Madrid, they will face each other again on March 17 in the second leg at the Etihad Stadium. Before that, however, they will host Elche CF at the Bernabéu for LaLiga on Saturday 14.
