Luka Doncic acknowledged his sadness at the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss that puts them 1-3 in their series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but insisted that they still have a chance to get past the first round.

“It’s definitely disappointing but we haven’t lost anything yet. The first to four wins and we have to keep believing,” he told a press conference.

It’s a fun challenge and we should have extra motivation to win the next three games. It’s going to be very tough and every possession is going to be important

The Slovenian, who suffered stomach problems in the third game, explained that he is now feeling better and stressed that it is no excuse for not having won this match.

Luka Doncic did not want to point to fatigue as an explanation for what happened after coach JJ Redick used only five players in the entire second half: Doncic, LeBron James, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and Dorian Finney-Smith.

“This is the playoffs. Fatigue shouldn’t play a role in this. I think they executed better on defense in the last few minutes,” he argued.

Likewise, Doncic said that, in a controversial play in the last minute, he believes that the Wolves committed a foul that was not called and looked optimistically at the fifth game for the Lakers, which will be played on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

“It’s a fun challenge and we should have extra motivation to win the next three games. It’s going to be very tough and every possession is going to be important,” he said.
