Donna Kelce sparked online speculation after a brief comment about her sons’ past relationships, prompting fans to wonder whether the matriarch quietly called out former girlfriends of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce.
While promoting Season 4 of The Traitors, the 71-year-old was asked which personalities she would least want to encounter inside the Scottish castle, and her response quickly drew attention across social media platforms.
“Maybe some of my sons’ adversaries,” Donna Kelce said, before elaborating further. “That could either be on other teams, or it could be coaches, or it could be past girlfriends.”
The remark was delivered casually, yet many viewers interpreted it as a pointed reference to the public scrutiny surrounding Travis Kelce‘s dating history, especially as his current relationship dominates headlines.
Donna Kelce balanced the comment by sharing who she would enjoy seeing on the show, adding that she would “love to see” Stevie Nicks, Martha Stewart, or Shaquille O’Neal among the cast.
Although she never named names, Travis Kelce‘s most well-known exes include Maya Benberry and Kayla Nicole, both of whom were part of highly public chapters in his pre-Taylor Swift dating life.
Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, first began dating Maya Benberry after meeting her on his 2016 dating show Chasing Kelce, though the relationship lasted only a few months once filming ended and real life set in.
He later entered an on-again, off-again relationship with sports broadcaster Kayla Nicole, with the couple dating between 2017 and 2022 under constant public attention and social media commentary.
Travis Kelce eventually moved on after attempting to get Taylor Swift‘s attention during her Eras Tour visit in Kansas City in July 2023.
The pair went public with their romance in October 2023 and announced their engagement in August 2025, and a source told PEOPLE that Donna Kelce is “already saving little things from this time like photos, notes and flowers,” describing her as “very sentimental.”
Jason Kelce‘s personal life has remained more private, as he has been married to Kylie Kelce since 2018, and together they share four daughters, keeping his story largely free of any kind of controversy.
Kelce gives NFL retirement update
Meanwhile, Travis Kelce is reflecting on what comes next in his NFL career as he approaches another offseason with major decisions ahead.
The legendary player could quit the sport after a difficult year for Kansas City, whose season ended with a 14-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, closing the campaign at 6-11.
It marked the Chiefs‘ first missed playoff appearance since 2014, adding another layer of uncertainty to an offseason that could bring significant change for both the franchise and the end of an era.
Now 36 and an 11-time Pro Bowl selection, Kelce said conversations with the organization have already started as the year winds down.
“Every season ends for me, I just put my feet up, and I just be a human,” Kelce said on New Heights. “Just being a regular human for a couple weeks, maybe a month or so, just trying to figure out what I’m going to do next in terms of my future in football.
“I’ve talked to a few people in the facility already, having the exit meetings and everything, and they know where I stand at least right now.
“There’s a lot of love for the game that’s still there and I don’t think I’ll ever lose that. It’s a tough thing to navigate.
“But at the same time, if my body can heal up and rest up, and I can feel confident that I can go out there and give it another 18, 20, 21-week run, I think I would do it in a heartbeat.”
