This Saturday, David Adeleye takes on Jeamie Tshikeva in a tough fight for the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) heavyweight title at the Co-op Live in Manchester, UK. While this is a local title, both fighters have a great opportunity to showcase themselves on an international stage, where the Commonwealth Boxing Council super lightweight title will also be at stake
Adeleye has Nigerian ancestry, is 28 years old and is looking to take his career to stardom in the UK, with a current record of 13-1 with 12 knockouts, his only loss coming in October 2023, when he was knocked out by Fabio Wardley, on the previous occasion where he attempted to contest this title
He returned in December last year with a first-round victory over Salomon Dacres at Wembley. His style is characterised by imposing strong pressure on his opponents and he likes to finish them off quickly. He has also improved in technique, defence and mobility, under the guidance of trainer Adam Booth.Jeamie Tshikeva is 31 years old and this could be his last chance to get to the big cards, although he arrives as a favorite on Saturday, seeded 16th in his country, although his record is just eight wins and only one loss by knockout, which occurred in September 2023 and five knockouts in his favor.
Tshikeva turned professional in 2022, although she has a long amateur career, with a record of 29 wins and 11 defeats. She specialises in marking her distance with a solid jab and putting strong pressure on her opponents
The full card will be broadcast live on DAZN, starting at 19:00 local time
