Beyond his successful career as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Dave Roberts is a dedicated father. Together with his wife Tricia Lynn Schempp, with whom he shares more than 25 years of marriage, he has formed a family focused on love, effort and passion for their respective paths

His children, Cole Roberts and Emmerson Roberts, have followed different paths, but both reflect their father’s competitive and committed character.

Cole Roberts, the baseball player following in his father’s footsteps

Cole Roberts played college baseball at Loyola Marymount University before signing as a free agent with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023. Since then, he has played for several minor league affiliates, including the Visalia Rawhide, Hillsboro Hops, ACL D-backs and most recently with the Philadelphia Phillies, who signed him in January 2025.

During the 2025 season, Cole was assigned to teams such as the Reading Fightin Phils, Jersey Shore BlueClaws and Clearwater Threshers, before being released on July 28. His journey reflects the toughness of the professional path in baseball, but also his perseverance and love for the sport.

Emmerson Roberts, artistic talent with the same passion

Unlike her brother, Emmerson “Emme” Roberts chose the world of art. Passionate about acting, singing and performing, Emmerson has shown the same energy and determination as her father and brother, albeit on a different stage. Dave Roberts has publicly expressed his pride in her, noting that she “has the same competitive engine” that characterizes their family.

The Roberts: A family united by effort and passion

Dave and Tricia Roberts have built a family where each member pursues their dreams with intensity. While Dave leads the Dodgers in search of titles, Cole fights to establish himself in professional baseball and Emmerson shines in the artistic world. The Roberts family represents the balance between sport, art and values that transcend the field of play.

More than baseball: Dave Roberts’ legacy

Although Dave Roberts is recognized for his achievements in MLB, his greatest pride is at home. “My identity is not just baseball,” he has said. “It’s being a husband and father.” With children who reflect his character and passion, Roberts’ legacy goes far beyond the dugout.
