These days will go a bit slower for some fans as the Dallas Cowboys took the field at AT&T Stadium with nothing left to play for in terms of standings. Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ decisive 29-18 victory over the Washington Commanders on Saturday, the Cowboys were officially eliminated from playoff contention.
The loss marks the second consecutive year that the team will miss the postseason, a sharp contrast to their three-year run of success from 2021 to 2023. However, while the players may have delivered bad news to their fans, the world-famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) stepped into the spotlight to ensure the final home stretch was still a spectacle.
A Christmas themed celebration
Knowing that the playoff door had completely shut, the DCC took to social media and the stadium turf to turn the focus toward Christmas celebrations. Trending across multiple social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok ahead of kickoff, the squad debuted their highly anticipated Christmas-themed outfits.
“Happy Christmas show season!!” the cheerleaders wrote on their official Instagram account, sharing a glimpse of the special holiday attire for their December performances.
Stepping away from their iconic blue and white star vests, the squad showed velvet-red and white-trimmed festive uniforms. This outfits debut coincides with the “Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza,” an electrifying show at The Star in Frisco that has become a staple for North Texas families.
That is why for many fans, the cheerleaders’ performance offered a much-needed drop of hope and a reason to stay in their seats, despite how bad the boys have performed this season.
