Colin Cairney, a 22-year-old Scottish professional boxer, has died in a hospital in Thailand after suffering an accident on the island of Phuket.
The undefeated boxer, had a record of 10 wins and 0 losses, fell headfirst to the ground from a moving tuk-tuk after arguing with the driver over the method of payment for the fare of a trip.
Security camera footage has ruled out the possibility of an assault, and the hypothesis being considered is that the 22-year-old man fell from the three-wheeled vehicle without being pushed, suffering a fatal head injury.
Emergency services found him unconscious and bleeding on the road at 4:10 in the early morning.
Cairney was initially transferred to Patong Hospital and later to Vachira Phuket Hospital.

The death of Colin Cairney was confirmed by Boxing Scotland, Team 1314 Boxing Club and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
“In Boxing Scotland we deeply regret the passing of former international boxer Colin Cairney. The 22-year-old represented Scotland on numerous occasions in prestigious competitions, such as the Junior European Championship and the Youth World Championship,” Boxing Scotland posted.
