For many Dallas Cowboys fans, the most beloved offensive player on the team is CeeDee Lamb, who is without a doubt an elite wide receiver in the NFL. Before the start of last season, the team gave him a four-year, $136 million contract extension, including a $38 million signing bonus and $100 million guaranteed-completely fair for a player of his talent.
In five seasons, CeeDee Lamb has totaled 6,339 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns. And in this upcoming season, he could take things even further. It’s worth noting that a few weeks after the Draft, the Cowboys traded for George Pickens from the Steelers, so with Pickens drawing defensive attention, Lamb could have even more opportunities to shine.
However, it won’t be easy. The Dallas Cowboys are far from favorites in the NFC East-a division currently led by the reigning champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. On top of that, the Washington Commanders have taken a significant step forward in quality, placing the Cowboys in third place within the division.
CeeDee Lamb is close to joining legendary receivers
The spectacular Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb, is just about to reach 500 career receptions at 26 years old. This milestone would catapult him into a list of historic NFL receivers like Larry Fitzgerald.
“With 496 receptions, it’s likely he’ll reach that mark in Week 1 against the Eagles to start the season. Reaching 500 would make Lamb just the fifth player in NFL history to do so at the age of 26. The only others to reach that milestone at 26 or younger were Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Jarvis Landry, and DeAndre Hopkins,” reported Sports Illustrated.
However, Lamb might not be the only one added to that list, as many consider Justin Jefferson to be the best receiver in the NFL-and he currently has 495 receptions. So it’s highly likely that in Week 1 of the 2025 season, we’ll witness history on the gridiron.
