Caitlin Clark‘s groin injury has kept her off the court, but not out of the celebrations.
The Indiana Fever’s joy at winning the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup after defeating the Minnesota Lynx (59-74) was quick to follow, with CC taking center stage despite not playing in the game.
The truth is that, in addition to her three recent absences, there are another five games she had to miss due to her quadriceps injury.
This is the first time Clark has been injured and missed games, but it seems that this situation is a cause for concern for a former NFL player.
Emmanuel Acho, currently an analyst for Fox Sports, expressed his “concern” that the Indiana star may be prone to injury and unable to withstand the demands of the sport.
She’s had two injuries now, both are soft tissue injuries, she didn’t turn on somebody’s ankle, she didn’t get elbowed into a rib. They’re soft tissue injuries. I am now becoming worried about Caitlin Clark being able to sustain the pro rigors of the game.
Fans’ reaction to Acho’s comments
Following the former Philadelphia Eagles player‘s comments, many fans came to Clark’s defense. While some claimed that his conclusions were too hasty, others reminded him of Clark’s first year in the WNBA.
“Bruh, it’s too early for this conversation,” one user told him. “Please stop talking, she played 40 last season,” commented a second fan. “So she’s missed eight games in her entire basketball career and she’s injury prone? She played the entire season last year! Lmao, just say you don’t like her, bruh,” said another follower.
The truth is that Clark’s return to the court is still uncertain, as Stephanie White confirmed that she will not play in Thursday’s game against the Las Vegas Aces at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. What is certain is that fans miss seeing her shine in the Indiana Fever colors.
