If anyone is ready to take the new WNBA season by storm, it’s Caitlin Clark. With her talent, determination, and unstoppable energy, she is ready to shine on the court and take her game to the next level, and she is preparing in the best way possible.

Caitlin Clark is all in for the Indiana Fever, giving 100% on every play, but her heart still beats for Iowa. Her love for her roots keeps her connected as she forges a new legacy in the WNBA with passion and determination that she doesn’t hide and shows when the situation calls for it.

In the WNBA, she put up crazy numbers, is the NCAA‘s all-time leading scorer, led the Hawkeyes to two national finals, and saw her No. 22 jersey retired. But not everything has a happy ending, or a connection to that identity, for that matter.

Caitlin and Iowa were meant to be

During her time at Iowa, Caitlin Clark began a strong relationship with Connor McCaffery, despite his father, Fran McCaffery, being fired as coach in 2025. Today, she shines with the Indiana Fever, while Connor moves forward as an assistant at Butler.

The McCaffery family went through significant changes this year: After being fired by Iowa, Fran quickly found a new home at Penn, his soul mate, while his daughter Marit ended her college career with an emotional graduation.

Despite the adversity, is everything happy?

On her Instagram account, Marit shared some photos of her graduation, and the text she shared with the post caught the attention of many.

“The last 15 years in Iowa City couldn’t have ended any worse, so thank you, Iowa!” she wrote.

That wasn’t all. Caitlin Clark responded to the post with a like, and Connor didn’t hide his excitement, leaving a comment on the post.

“Original caption.” Marit and Connor’s brother, Patrick McCaffery, added: “We love this QUAKE SHOWWWW.”

In the end, it seems the family is happy. Caitlin will have an eternal love for Iowa, her boyfriend’s family didn’t have such a pleasant experience in sports, but it doesn’t seem to be something that’s on her mind and she will remain focused like the great professional that she is.
