Very bad news, as bad luck continues to follow star player Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever shooting guard made headlines again after suffering a bone bruise on her left ankle during a solo workout in Phoenix on August 7. Although the injury was classified as minor, Clark has struggled to find physical stability in her second WNBA campaign.

According to The Indianapolis Star, Clark hasn’t played since July 15, and this latest setback kept her out of Sunday’s game against the Connecticut Sun, marking her 13th consecutive absence. Indiana’s next matchup is at home against the conference-leading Minnesota Lynx, and fans are doubtful she’ll be ready.

Clark’s fans are losing patience

Her absences not only impact Indiana Fever’s performance on the court, but also directly affect her fan base. Many supporters have started expressing their frustration on social media, saying they’ve lost hope of seeing her play this season.

“I’m done. I don’t think she’s coming back. If she does, it’ll be a nice surprise, but for now I’m not expecting anything,” one fan wrote. Others demanded clarity from the team and Clark herself about her actual health status, arguing that the ongoing hope for a return only leads to more disappointment.

Clark’s 2025 has been marked by injuries

Caitlin Clark’s second WNBA season has been plagued by physical issues. It all began in the preseason, when she missed the first game due to discomfort in her left quadriceps. Later, on May 24, she suffered a strain in the same area that kept her out for more than two weeks.

After returning and playing five games, another injury-this time to her left groin-sidelined her again in late June. Now, the ankle bruise has extended her absence through most of the season, limiting her to just 13 games in 2025.

Uncertainty surrounds Caitlin Clark

As the Indiana Fever try to stay competitive in the playoff race, the lack of clarity about their star player’s return is concerning. If she manages to come back, even for the final games, it could provide an emotional boost-but the reality is that her fans are tired of waiting.
