No surprise here: after two weeks, the New York Giants are 0-2 following losses on the road to the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys. This situation is not unexpected; for many years, the Giants have been one of the NFL’s most dysfunctional franchises.

In the last two seasons, the Giants’ record has been 9-25, and they are already 0-2 this year. To make matters worse, the team led by Brian Daboll has the toughest schedule in the NFL, with the next two games against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. Things are looking bleak in the Big Apple.

This past Sunday, despite Russell Wilson throwing three touchdown passes and amassing 450 yards, and an incredible performance from Malik Nabers, The Giants still found a way to lose 40-37 to the Cowboys, including a 64-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey.

Draymond Green criticizes Brian Daboll’s decisions

There’s no doubt that Brian Daboll’s job is on thin ice after two disastrous seasons, and the current one seems headed in the same direction. It’s wild to think he was named Head Coach of the Year in 2022, but that’s in the past; the present looks grim.

Draymond Green, power forward for the Golden State Warriors, spoke with Jordan Schultz on their joint podcast Why is Draymond Green Talking about Football?, criticizing Daboll’s work, particularly his hesitant decision not to start Jaxson Dart.

“He’s not good. And he kept his job, which was ridiculous,” Green said. “But you come out noncommittal, like you’re creating controversy in a city that’s already going to create controversy. So he’s not a good leader.”

To make matters worse, the multiple NBA champion made it clear that Brian Daboll’s job should be in jeopardy: “That guy stinks, man. You don’t come out noncommittal in Week 1. That’s idiotic. That guy stinks. That’s who should be on the hot seat-Brian Daboll; he stinks.”

The situation is complicated for the New York Giants. On the next Sunday Night Football, they will host Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in a matchup between two teams that are both 0-2.
