Days after Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was caught on the kiss cam cuddling up to his HR chief Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert, prominent sports personalities are joining the internet roast. Among the first from the football sphere to chime in was none other than NFL content creator and media personality Annie Agar.
Known for her social media commentary and parody videos poking fun at NFL teams and storylines, Agar took the opportunity to drop a sly jab at the viral moment during her own concert outing.
She posted a series of glamorous photos from what appeared to be her own Coldplay concert visit, dressed in a Western-themed outfit complete with a strapless top, denim shorts, cowboy boots, and a hat. But while fans admired her look-especially the summer tan lines-what truly grabbed attention was her caption.
“Didn’t hug a CEO but still a great concert,” Agar wrote.
The joke, of course, was aimed at the now-notorious moment when Byron and Cabot were caught on the jumbotron at Gillette Stadium. Byron had his arms around Cabot while she intertwined her fingers with his until the camera panned their way.
In a moment of obvious panic, Cabot covered her face and turned away, while Byron awkwardly ducked out of the frame. The moment prompted Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to muse aloud: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” As it turns out, the affair part was true.
The NFL’s social media queen fuels the Coldplay scandal’s momentum
Agar‘s light-hearted jab quickly gained steam online, drawing nearly 7,000 likes, over 300 comments, and more than 167,000 views within just an hour. Fans praised the timing and wit, while others marveled at how far the scandal had traveled-from Silicon Valley boardrooms to NFL Twitter.
Meanwhile, the real-life consequences for the people involved appear to be getting more serious by the day. Byron, who is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, has already seen his wife drop his surname from her social media profiles, fueling speculation that their marriage may be falling apart. Cabot, who recently divorced her husband Kenneth Thornby, now finds herself at the center of scrutiny-not just for personal reasons, but also in her professional role as Astronomer’s chief human resources officer.
The tech firm, recently valued at $1.2 billion, announced that both Byron and Cabot have been placed on administrative leave while the board conducts a formal investigation. The fallout has extended beyond the company’s leadership to its public image, as jokes, memes, and even merchandise referencing the scandal continue to flood social media.
