Sometimes fans wonder if there’s anything Angel Reese can’t do. After a rookie year where she broke every rebounding and double-double record available, up until her debut as a lingerie model, fans thought Reese couldn’t surprise them anymore. However, she did so by revealing the latest milestone in her career.
Reese has been unstoppable the past two years. Not only did she break the records for consecutive double-doubles in a season and across seasons, but she also averaged 14.5 points and 13.2 rebounds per game.
She was the 2024 Rookie of the Year, a two-time All-Star, a leading rebounder in both of her WNBA seasons, and, not only that, she’s also a champion of the 3×3 Unrivaled basketball league.
Reese has also been a star off the court. In addition to her successful podcast, Unapologetic Angel, and her runway debut as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, she now has her first film appearance.
Angel Reese’s acting debut
This Friday, Reese took to Instagram to post a snippet of her acting debut. The Chicago Sky star made her on-camera debut with a cameo in director Kathryn Bigelow’s film, A House of Dynamite.
The film, starring Idris Elba, is one of Netflix’s latest blockbusters. The film also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Anthony Ramos, Greta Lee, Gabriel Basso, and Willa Fitzgerald.
The film is an apocalyptic political thriller in which Elba portrays the President of the United States, who must contend with a terrorist threat. However, in the middle of the action, someone from his staff reminds him that he first has to deal with “the Angel Reese situation.”
Like any cameo, it only lasts a few seconds, but Reese enjoyed it as a triumph on the court. Regarding his scene with Elba, she said, “He is so sweet. He is so nice. We are going to do some Reebok stuff with him.”
Fans are ecstatic about Reese’s cameo
“It’s Angel’s world and we’re just living in it,” exclaimed one ecstatic fan, summing up the sentiment of the Sky forward’s most ardent followers.
“Watching a full movie for a 30-second cameo, call that the Angel Reese Effect,” said another, referring to the so-called Caitlin ClarkEffect. The latter is the economic impact the Indiana Fever star has had on women’s basketball in general.
“On the court. On the runaway. On the big screen,” said another, summing up Reese’s success, while another stated, “Love to see you winning!” Although perhaps the most representative comment is, “A MOVIE STAR. What can’t our girlie do?”
