Excitement is in the air in Chicago. Angel Reese, one of the rising stars of professional basketball, expressed her excitement after reuniting with former teammate Hailey Van Lith, now that both will be playing together on the Chicago Sky in the WNBA.

Van Lith was selected in the first round of Monday night’s draft, joining Reese, with whom she shared the court at LSU under coach Kim Mulkey during the 2022-2023 season. Together, they led the Tigers to an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Reese didn’t take long to react on social media. On her X account (formerly Twitter), she posted an excited message: “We ain’t do it right the first time. Let’s run it backkkkk”

Van Lith enters the WNBA with an impressive college résumé. At LSU, she averaged 11.6 points and 3.6 assists per game, and she shined even more in her final year at TCU, putting up 17.9 points and 5.4 assists per game. She also led the Horned Frogs to their first-ever Big 12 championship and another Elite Eight appearance.

Beyond her on-court talent, Van Lith is also a high-profile media figure. Considered one of the early stars of the NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) era, her market valuation was estimated at $779,000 as of October 2024, according to On3Sports.

With Reese and Van Lith back together, Sky fans have plenty to look forward to. The upcoming season promises excitement, on-court chemistry, and a dynamic duo that already knows how to win.
