Angel Reese surprised her fans by announcing her trade from the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream on Monday, April 6, and just one day later, she made it clear that her stay won’t be temporary.

The two-time All-Star Game selection assured fans she is “here to stay,” sending a direct message to her new team’s supporters.

Angel’s move included the trade of a first-round pick in the 2027 draft and another in 2028, while the Dream will receive second-round draft rights in 2028, as announced on Monday, in a deal both franchises consider strategic for their future.

In her first remarks as “ATL Barbie,” the power forward expressed enthusiasm for the team’s atmosphere and the city, noting that she feels motivated by this new challenge:

I was so excited when I finally found out. The team has welcomed me so much, the atmosphere, the culture… I’m so excited to be in A-Town,” Reese told People.

Angel had already shown her enthusiasm for this new stage in her career on her Instagram account, but she has also been making headlines for another aspect that has been very present in her life: fashion.

In addition to her impact on the court, Reese continues to grow as a media personality, recently participating in fashion campaigns and expanding her profile beyond basketball. In the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, Reese walked the red carpet in New York City to help Victoria’s Secret launch its new “The Season of Strapless” campaign, in which she stars.

The photos came out phenomenal, I look amazing, and this collection is going to be so amazing because the strapless bra is back, baby!” Angel commented.

In 2025, she became the first professional athlete to walk in the iconic Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, marking a key moment of representation on the runway. Now, in 2026, she continues her collaboration with the brand, blending her athletic presence with the glamour of the fashion world.

Additionally, during the interview, she took the opportunity to send a message to Dream’s fans:

Atlanta, what up? ATL Barbie is in town and I’m here to stay.
