With the NFL trade deadline approaching, many players unhappy with their team’s results will seek new horizons. It’s no secret that the Las Vegas Raiders season has turned into a genuine nightmare, which is why wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is pushing for a trade to turn his back on the team where Tom Brady is a minority owner.

Meyers doesn’t deny wanting out of the Raiders

Jakobi Meyers trade rumors are heating up as the deadline nears. When asked by the media if he still wanted to leave the Las Vegas Raiders, his response was firm: “But I’m a professional at the end of the day. I’m just trying to play good football. If I’m here“Oh, for sure.”, I’ll play good football. If I’m not here, I’ll go out there and play wherever I’m supposed to be.”

Last August, Meyers requested a trade after failing to reach a contract extension agreement. The Raiders denied the request in the final year of his three-year, $33 million deal, which he signed in 2023 after coming from the New England Patriots. Since then, the wide receiver has not insisted on staying with the franchise.

Meyers missed the latest game, in which the Las Vegas Raiders suffered a painful 31-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, after sustaining a knee/toe injury in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans. He tried to warm up but ultimately decided it was best not to play.

One of the clear areas needing improvement for the team is the Raiders offense, which has scored 10 points or fewer in its last three games. There are also individual players who have more touchdowns than the entire team combined, raising serious concerns ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline.
