Irish boxer Lee Reeves is in critical condition, but stable, after being knocked out in the fight he contested in Dublin against Gary Cully for the vacant BUI Celtic super lightweight title.
Cully landed a tremendous left hook that ended the fight at 52 seconds of the final round. Reeves collapsed onto the canvas and had to be attended to by the doctors. He left the ring on a stretcher, headed to the hospital.
The promoter Queensberry Promotion reported that Reeves remains in critical but stable condition. “All our thoughts and prayers are with Lee Reeves and his family at this time, while he remains hospitalized,” commented Frank Warren.
“My prayers and thoughts are with Lee Reeves, I hope he’s okay. He got there with few options after having fought at a relatively lower level until now, but he showed that he can perform at a higher level. Great credit to him,” Cully said after the fight.
