Despite having great stars in their squad, the last few years have not been easy for the Jets, who have not managed to make a significant impact, says Essentially Sports.

The sports media outlet indicates that not even quarterback Aaron Rodgers could raise the status of the New York team.

Recently, another former Jets quarterback spoke about his time with the team that has failed to shine, Zach Wilson

What did Zach Wilson say about his time with the Jets?

In an interview with the SunSentinel, the now Miami Dolphins player detailed that pressure ruined his 2023 season.

“It was a challenge. There are things, in retrospect, that I wish I had done much better, maybe I would have approached things differently, but I think, in the end, it’s all part of the story,” the player said.

Essentially Sports recalls that the Jets selected Wilson with the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and while players who are selected in the early draft positions are pressured to justify their selection, Wilson resented it until 2023.

In 2023, with the Jets, Wilson played 12 games and had a passer rating of 77.2, 2,271 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions, and was eventually traded to the Denver Broncos, where he was warming the bench in 2024, recalls the sports media outlet.

This 2025 looks different for the 25-year-old, as he has expressed that he always wanted to be part of the Miami Dolphins, even when he was with the Jets. The quarterback believes he can take the game a little further in the season with the help of the weather at the stadium located in Miami Gardens.

Wilson is expected to be the backup to Tua Tagovailoa, the starting quarterback, and Mike McDaniel is expected to put him to the test in a variety of situations.
