Former Cubs and Mariners pitcher Yoervis Medina has passed away due to a sudden health problem. The former Major League Baseball pitcher was only 37 years old.
According to Radio América, Medina suffered cardiac arrest, immediately lost consciousness, and lost control of his vehicle, which crashed into a shopping center in his hometown in Venezuela.
The former MLB player was born on July 27, 1988, and his death was reported on October 30, 2025. Reports indicate that the incident occurred at the Via Veneto shopping center in the municipality of Naguanagua.
