The legendary left-handed pitcher CC Sabathia was officially named a member of the Hall of Fame on Sunday, July 27, crowning a 19-season career in Major League Baseball.
With steps highlighted by the Cleveland, Milwaukee and, mainly, the New York Yankees, with whom he won the World Series in 2009, Sabathia has also been an active voice in baseball since his retirement.
He is currently a special assistant to MLBcommissioner Rob Manfred, acting as a liaison between players and the league.
But despite his new institutional role, Sabathia is not afraid to voice critical opinions about some past decisions.

The origin of this measure dates back to the 7-7 tie in the 2002 All-Star Game in Milwaukee.
In response, the league decided that the result of the Mid-Season Classic would determine which league would have home-field advantage in the World Series.
But for Sabathia, this solution was very poorly received among the players from the beginning:
You play 162 games, you go through a long postseason… The best team should have the home advantage. Not for an exhibition game
