New York Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole is the latest player to join the team’s lengthy injury list, which has left fans of the Bronx Bombers in a state of sadness.

Cole joined another starting pitcher in Luis Gil, as well as the Yankees’ slugger and designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton, while he is undergoing tests on the elbow in his throwing arm, and it was said that an update will be given on the severity in the coming days.

For now, the Bronx Bombers fans made their presence felt on social media, which shows the enormous pain of being without one of the best pitchers currently in MLB.

“My God! Just put the whole Yankees lineup on the injured list at once. This is pathetic, none of their players can stay healthy,” wrote one fan.

“The worst training team in the Major Leagues! Also, are the coaches working and developing the players properly? Of course Gerrit has been working and listening to the pitching coaches. Something is rotten in Gotham City,” another fan responded.

“We’re toast. And the season hasn’t even started,” wrote another.

Pressure is mounting on the rest of the starting rotation

The absence of Cole could be costly for manager Aaron Boone‘s team, although Cole is expected to be back for Opening Day, although he will have to take it easy, while the pressure is on the rest of the team’s starting pitchers, assuming Cole’s return is delayed by the injury.

Carlos Rodon, Marcus Stroman and Max Fried will have to take control of the starting rotation, while the Yankees could bring in Will Warren to help solve their problems.

The offense will have to step in to help the team until Gerrit Cole returns, as things are not going so well for the defense, after there was a series of criticism for shortstop Anthony Volpe, who has made some errors with the glove.
