Angel Reese, the talented forward for the Chicago Sky, is celebrating a huge personal achievement.. After a tough 2025 WNBA season filled with ups and downs, Reese is experiencing a moment of pure joy off the court.

At just 23 years old, she has fulfilled a lifelong dream by launching her very first signature shoe with Reebok, and the response has been overwhelming.

The 2025 WNBA season was a challenging one for Reese and her team. While Reese had an impressive year individually, averaging 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds per game, the Chicago Sky struggled mightily.

The team ended the season with a disappointing 10-34 record and missed the playoffs entirely. The season’s end was further marred by controversy when Reese spoke out publicly in an interview with the Chicago Tribune.

She openly criticized her teammates and the front office, saying she refused to continue accepting losing seasons. Her candid remarks led to an in-game suspension, underscoring a rocky finish to an otherwise strong personal campaign.

A dream realized

Despite the setbacks on the court, Reese’s off-court ventures are flourishing. After entering the WNBA Draft in 2024 following a successful college career that included stints at Maryland and LSU, Reese signed a deal with Reebok.

The brand, which had long been absent from the basketball shoe scene, is now making a comeback and Reese is at the forefront of this revival.

On Thursday morning, Reese officially launched the Angel Reese 1s, a sneaker line inspired by her energy and style both on and off the basketball court. The shoes come in three distinct colorways: classic white, a sleek black and white combo, and a vibrant pink option.

Reebok touts the shoes as offering “lightweight, flexible construction with unmatched support, energy return, and stability,” catering perfectly to athletes who demand performance and comfort.

Priced at $120, the sneakers flew off the virtual shelves, selling out within minutes of becoming available on Reebok’s website. The quick sell-out highlights Reese’s rising popularity and the excitement surrounding her signature line.

Reese took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her emotions about this milestone. “HAPPY LAUNCH DAY Today I get to share a dream turned reality-my very first shoe. I can’t even put into words how PROUD I am of this moment, how THANKFUL I am for the journey, and how GRATEFUL I am for every single person who has supported me along the way,” she wrote.

She went on to say, “I’m in full tears right now.Taking a leap of faith and launching three of my signature shoes at once was a huge risk-but guess what? They all sold out! I’m sooooo THANKFUL & beyond GRATEFUL and just want to thank everyone for the amazing support. REEBOK IS BACK!”

Reese’s partnership with Reebok also has an interesting backstory. The brand’s return to basketball footwear was championed by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Initially hoping to sign major NBA stars, Shaq pivoted to focus on younger, rising talent due to budget constraints.

“Since we’re starting all over, we going to start with the younger generation,” Shaq explained. He then reached out to Reese, telling her, “You know you’re the (expletive), you need your own shoe.” Reese’s enthusiasm and talent made her the perfect face for Reebok’s relaunch in the basketball world.

As Reese celebrates her sold-out shoe launch, she is not only marking a personal triumph but also helping to revive a storied brand. With her talent, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit, Reese is proving that success can be achieved both on the court and in the business world.
