Indiana Fever had to face Washington Mystics without Caitlin Clark. The team’s star had to stay away from the courts due to a left quadriceps strain and would not return for the next 14 days.
Down 83-77 after leading 23-19 in the first quarter, the Fever let the win slip away and were outscored in the remaining three periods.
While CC is expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks, the 22-year-old didn’t miss a beat. Clark was the new team photographer.
The WNBA itself was the one who unveiled Caitlin’s “new job” on its official X account. In a post, the league shared 3 pictures of CC in which she is seen with a camera in her hands, capturing every moment of her teammates. “Caitlin Clark, the camera girl,” they wrote.
Despite not being able to see her shine in the match, fans left messages of support on the post: “MVP = Most Valuable Photographer”, “When she comes back it will be a masterclass”, “Multi talented generational Caitlin Clark” they wrote.
The games in which Clark will be absent
Following her absence from the game against the Mystics, CC will also watch from the bench for the game against the Connecticut Sun on Friday, May 30 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Indianapolis.
According to the 14 days out that the team indicated Clark would take to check and recover, he would miss another game against the Washington Mystics on Thursday, June 3 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Indianapolis.
But the game that would hurt fans the most is on Saturday, June 7, when the Chicago Sky would host Indiana at the United Center Chicago. Yes, we might miss the chance to see Angel Reese vs. Caitlin Clark.
If all goes well, CC is expected to return to the court on Tuesday, June 10 against Atlanta Dream at The Gateway Center Arena @ College Park.
