In another move that bridges the basketball court of the WNBA and the ring of the WWE, the well known Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Garcia) have officially called out the Indiana Fever’s most talked-about duo: Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham.
While speaking in a red carpet interview with Yahoo! Sports on the Sport Illustrated ‘The Parth’ event, the WWE Hall of Famers did not only praised the two basketball stars, they called them out, demanding a match.
“Book it, WrestleMania!”
The challenge came when Nikki and Brie were asked which WNBA stars had the charisma and physical presence to thrive in the WWE. Nikki Bella was the one who broke the ice. She did not hesitate, pointing directly to the Fever’s stars.
“Caitlin Clark, she’d be awesome,” Nikki stated, before revealing that she and Sophie Cunningham had already been sliding into her DMs regarding a potential crossover.
“So, Sophie and Caitlin versus the Bellas. Book it, WrestleMania!
Brie Garcia kept adding to the hype, noting that the matchup would actually be really good to see, pointing out that the sisters, who returned to WWE in 2024, are dead serious about the spectacle. Now it is Sophie and Caitlin’s turn to answer the callout.
A battle of four greats
The reason this pairing makes such narrative sense and hype in the wrestling world is the dynamic already established in the Fever by the other two. Cunningham has become widely known as the defensive protector for Caitlin Clark, often stepping into physical altercations to defend the superstar from other opponents. Seeing them both in a ring would be the final flex to support the narrative.
They already got compliments from other wrestling companies, as the founder and co-owner of Women of Wrestling (WOW), David McLane, praised Cunnigham calling her a stunning athlete while speaking at a panel during the last San Diego Comic-Con.
Whether the match ends up happening or not, just the thought of seeing Cunningham and Clark in a ring is exciting enough to keep dreaming. Despite their lack of fighting experience, they will surely do a great job if the time comes.
