The WNBA‘s fifth annual Commissioner’s Cup, sponsored by Coinbase, will take place over a concentrated 17-day stretch in June 2025, during which all league games will be part of the competition. So, what do you need to know?
This tournament has quickly become an integral part of the WNBA calendar, merging regular-season play with an exciting in-season championship race and this time will consist of 36 games played between June 1 and June 17.
Each team competes exclusively against their conference rivals in Cup games, ensuring high stakes within familiar matchups, allowing a thrilling run of fixtures for the teams.
The two conference leaders face off for a substantial prize pool totaling $500,000. Coinbase, the tournament’s presenting sponsor, has also committed $120,000 in cryptocurrency as part of the winnings, including $5,000 awarded to each player participating in the final.
The competition culminates in a championship game held on July 1, hosted by the conference team with the best winning percentage in Cup play, where teams will set out to end the Minnesota Lynx‘s spell as winners.
