Hello everybody and welcome to the MARCA in English live blog for the 2025 Wimbledon men’s singles final between the two new leaders of tennis, world number one Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
Alcaraz is looking to join the likes of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Pete Sampras in winning Wimbledon three times in a row. Victory on Centre Court today would also represent his fifth consecutive Slam on European soil.
It follows their epic five-hour marathon at Roland Garros where Alcaraz recovered from a set and match point down to claim a historic win at the French Open.
For that reason, Sinner will be eager to exact his revenge and the Italian looked in sumptuous form when he cruised past seven-time champion Djokovic in straight sets in his semi-final. Alcaraz found the going tougher against the American Taylor Fritz but got the job done in four sets.
Alcaraz, 22, is looking to claim his sixth Grand Slam title of his career, while Sinner already has three to his name. However, he has never triumphed in the final at SW19 before, while Alcaraz has two Wimbledon titles in his trophy cabinet.
The man from Murcia will be the slight favorite due to his superior record on the grass at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. But Sinner may be fresher having played fewer sets on his way to the final.
Stars and celebrities from all over the world will be in attendance, some in the Royal Box alongside Prince William, as they witness one of the greatest sporting contests of the year. Join our coverage to ensure you don’t miss a moment of the action.
