The next opponent for Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is not exactly a man who has been talked about insistently in recent years in the world of boxing, and although he is not an ‘illustrious’ unknown, not much was known about him until the Mexican set his sights on his skills that today place him as a somewhat dangerous opponent (although nothing to do with great legends of the island), thanks to his undefeated in 23 fights since his professional debut in 2016.

William Scull Yero is a 33-year-old Cuban boxer who currently holds the IBF super middleweight world title, which he won in 2024, and today the whole world is talking about him thanks to the fact that the Jalisco native brought him up to be his rival in his new fight, the first of his four-fight contract with Turki Alalshikh to be held in Saudi Arabia.

The famous ‘Indomitable“, who has forged a path in the super middleweight division, was born on June 6, 1992, in the village of Zorrilla, in the municipality of Los Arabos de Matanzas, Cuba, into a humble family, the son of a former amateur boxer who identified his talent and put him to compete from an early age, a trance in which from the beginning he had the support of his family, who have followed him since those years and until his career began to be relevant to the media, after his fight in October last year against Russian Vladimir Shishkin, whom he beat for the title he now holds, by unanimous decision.

Little is known about Scull’s personal life

Scull’s private life is really little known, other than that he resides in the German city of Berlin, although at the moment he lives in Mallorca, Spain, after leaving Cuba and settling in Argentina, where he arrived with an invitation letter, and where he left a son with a woman who has not been identified.

William’s mother is only known to be planning to take her out of Cuba to live in Mallorca, where she wants to buy her a house with the money earned from the simple fact of facing Canelo in Arabia.
