Next May 3, the world will keep on tenterhooks to see which fist hits harder in the fight between William Scull and Canelo Alvarez at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.

There, the 34-year-old boxer will try to beat his Cuban opponent and unify for the second time all the super middleweight world championships.

In the run-up to the fight, one of its protagonists talked about the event and praised his opponent. In an interview with DAZN, the Cuban fighter predicted that “it will be a great fight” and referred to Canelo saying:

He is an example to follow for many boxers and many people worldwide. He is a great person. We all know he is a living legend.

In addition, he was confident and although he knows that his opponent is “very strong” and that “he has many skills”, he commented with satisfaction that his advantage is in the greater reach he has: “Weaknesses I can’t tell you now because we are on camera and this is a strategy. We have a work plan. We have to be physically well and give him a great battle,” added William.

In the same talk, Scull let it be known that we could have enjoyed this fight some time before: “Two years ago we were on the subject of the fight, but it didn’t happen, then I moved on to world champion and it happened now.”

What can we expect from the fight?

Knowing the advantages and weak points of his opponent, Scull is sure of one thing: he won’t go for the knockout.

“I want to go out there and enjoy and see what happens. He’s never been knocked out and maybe he’ll get knocked out, but I don’t know,” he told DAZN. “I’m working for a great 12 round fight” he closed.

How the protagonists arrive:

William Scull owns an undefeated record with 23 wins, 9 of them by KO and holds the IBF super middleweight world championship.

Canelo, on the other hand, has a 62-2-2 record and holds the WBC and WBO super middleweight world title.
