Last week, Netflix premiered Season 2 of “Starting 5“, a show that goes behind-the-scenes while following NBA stars in their daily lives. Season 1 was a success, and the second season had a lot of hype around it due to the featuring of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, last season’s MVP. But longtime NBA fans were focused more on Kevin Durant and James Harden, two elite veterans of the game who haven’t always allowed full access to their personalities.
Harden, in particular, has always kept to himself. On the show, fans have seen a different side of Harden. One of those sides is his romantic life, which took a massive step forward, as revealed by Harden himself on the show. Harden is due to have a child with Paije Speights, who has been his girlfriend for “about a year”. The two have frequently posed together for photos published to Instagram.

Speights is a 37-year-old who was born in Detroit, Michigan. She owns a fashion brand designed primarily for streetwear. She has also delved into music. Her appearance on Starting 5 actually wasn’t the first time she was on a TV show.
Speights had previously been involved in a competition show on HBO Max called “The Hype“. On the show, several judges choose between the top streetwear fashion designers in the country. Speights came in third place during the first season. Justin Mensinger won that season’s contest.
Speights was previously romantically involved with other NBA players before dating Harden. She has a child with former Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers and also dated former three-time Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams.
Harden’s baby on the way will actually be his second child. The NBA star revealed on his show that he has a son named Jace, who he has from a previous relationship.
