Since his arrival as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, Mike Macdonald has not only attracted attention for his defensive profile and youth, but also for his words of admiration for his wife, Stephanie Macdonald, whom he described as an “absolute rock star” during his introductory conference in 2024.
Stephanie, a former NFL cheerleader and singer, has accompanied Macdonald throughout his rise in professional and collegiate football. Her time in the NFL was not limited to sideline support. During her time with the Washington Commanders, she had the honor of performing the National Anthem before a game, adding her artistic side to her professional career. In addition, according to her LinkedIn profile, she has worked in various sales roles after leaving cheerleading.
A love story born in Baltimore
Mike and Stephanie met in October 2015, when both were with the Baltimore Ravens. At the time, Macdonald was working as a defensive coordinator, while she was a cheerleader for the team. The relationship did not formally begin until March 2016, once Stephanie left the organization to avoid professional conflicts.
The couple got engaged in 2019 and married in 2021, cementing a relationship marked by the professional growth of both. Stephanie has been a constant in her husband’s career changes and challenges, including his time as Michigan’s defensive coordinator, where she dedicated an emotional message of thanks to him on social media.
A new chapter as a family in Seattle
In December 2024, the couple welcomed their first child, Jack. Mike Macdonald did not hide his excitement when announcing the news and described his wife as an “incredible warrior,” highlighting her strength and unconditional support.
